And So It Goes.............

A while ago, I was involved in a Knitter's Treat Exchange, and the SP who treated me was Brandy from here http://purlparables.wordpress.com/ . I had taken to perusing her blog, and saw that she had a contest. Okay-it was all about her-facts that one could look up on her blog-sounds interesting, so I entered it. Well, come to find out- I won one of the prizes!!! When she said "sari silk", I thought- okay-one skein-I can find something to do with that. But noooo. 4- yes- F-O-U-R skeins of the stuff. Way cool. And so, I can make one of these http://www.recycledsilk.com/triangular.pdf or maybe even one of these- from Knitty.com (http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall04?PATTunbiased.html
Does anyone have any experience with either pattern and could send me some feedback? Brandi very generously sent two colours- more of a red for 2 skeins and a darker purple-y colour for the other 2 skeins. The timing of this gift of yarn is perfect- I have just had some serious summer purse failure (I guess a 20 dollar purse just ain't up to snuff anymore).
Now, in terms of school, I just have one report left to write ( report on the results of a grant that I received), and then it is stick a fork in me time, because I am DONE for another year!
And so it goes.......................

Congratulations! How fun.

Good luck with your grant report, in my experience they are difficult to start but then they seem to just flow - it is getting over that start hurdle. Just think of all the free time you are going to enjoy these next 2 months and get that report off your slate!

I've not knit it, but I like the triangular purse!

No feedback for either pattern but dang. They both look good.

I made the unbiased bag. It came out quite lovely and very sturdy. Having worked with the yarn and finding bits of twigs and scratchy stuff I don't think a scarf would feel very good.

here is a link to my pictures of my finished bag :

I just bought some sari silk off of Ebay at the end of last week. I am dying to get my hot little hands on it. I got 10 skeins for $16! I can't wait, I am too excited for words. Most of the bids I was seeing were ending at like $30 and that was just way too much with the other things I was bidding on.

I love sari silk! I haven't done those patterns, but I did a modular bag that was awesome. I did the Sunburst Sling Bag from Just One More Row. I had a few skeins, and it made one that I could practically use as luggage. You'll love the yarn, no matter what you make.
